My favourite part of my baby shower was this guest book. It is now Soliyah’s favourite book in the entire house, she asks me to read it to her over and over again!
This was so easy to do. All we needed was the following:
1. A few clipboards. Now I know what you’re thinking- “Are there not tables that people can use to draw on?” Yes…but then you have to move around food and drinks and hope that another guest doesn’t spill anything on the pages.
2. A few boxes of crayons/markers.
3. A few individuals in charge of handing out colours and alphabet sheets.
4. The amazing and FREE template for this baby alphabet book at https://somethingturquoise.com/2018/10/18/babys-first-alphabet-book-coloring-sheets/
5. A world that is not currently in a pandemic. Lucky for you, this works great even through the pandemic. I actually believe this is perfect for a pandemic- something for loved ones to do for baby where real baby showers cannot occur. Simply send the link to loved ones and tell them which letter to choose and print off (that way you won’t get duplicates). Once done, ask them to scan and email the page back OR mail it to you. When you have received all 26 letters, you just need to go to a store such as Staples. There, you can print any remaining letters, laminate the pages and have them coil the book up if you’d like.
This book is the best gift we received. I love seeing all of the artwork and love put into it. I love that it is personalized and that Soliyah gets to read (well eventually she will) the names of the individuals who worked so hard on these pages for her. We have several alphabet books, yet she gravitates toward this one every single time she wants to read a book. It’s like she can feel the love that was put into it. I know I sound very corny, but something’s got to give! She chooses this one book over her entire library collection every day. If I am blessed with more children, I plan to have a new one created for each child. I hope you enjoy it, feel free to message me with any particular questions!
